Summary
As Sydney drives Sloane away from the bank, they both learn from their contacts that the bomb has been diffused. A speeding van arrives and Sloane jumps into it, leaving Sydney behind. At Sydney's apartment, a cell phone call triggers one of the hidden listening devices; Marshall recognizes it as one he made for SD-6, but he is unable to determine who was receiving its transmissions. The fake Francie asks Sark how she should proceed; he tells her they will be looking for whoever planted the bugs, so she frames and kills the plumber. Elsewhere, the Rambaldi device is ready. Sloane meets Ahmad Kabir, who requests proof of Sloane's claim of power. Sloane tells Kabir to choose a target. The target chosen is Kabir's ex-wife, who is also being discussed at CIA headquarters as a possible lead for finding Kabir. Sydney manages to save the woman as Sark uses the weapon, which causes people within its range to burst into flames. Kabir is pleased with the demonstration and agrees to join Sloane. Sydney is captured after sneaking into Kabir's place; she is rescued just in time thanks to Dixon, who agreed to help the CIA after learning that Syd was in danger. They recover the Rambaldi weapon. Back at the Swiss hideout, Sloane breaks a statue given to him by Kabir: inside is the missing piece of a page from the Rambaldi manuscript.
